Complicit catharsis

How original
All of us, looking up
At the same cathode ray tube
In the sky
Watching the same things
In shame, alone, distinct
Awaiting the devastating absolution
Of finding someone else
Who celebrates the same memory of fiction
But doesn’t carry the same guilt
Of having liked it once
The string of distancing time
With leather heave rasp
Ready to snap in backlash

As I recall

You remember when
We used to talk about
Similarities between beer froth
and bioreactor contamination
And now this reminds me
of that reminder

You remember when
We used to talk about
A reference to a reference
and ways in which things connect
And now I forget
what this is reminds me of

I remember when
I used to talk about
Other things with other people
and they were not formless gusts of rushing blood
And now I remember
flickering fingers trying to catch vapour

Wash ashore

Plastic mobile homes, pressed on canvases of buoyancy
The pigments paint a nightmare that I often forget
The pixels of my brain, figures occupied by hard sells
The amplitude of memories, tides zeitgeist detergent

Viagra blue plastic bags, ocean floored for infringement
Names remain separate, denounced by the originals
We remember what to call us, by recalling ghosts of forms
The chemical formula for memories, recalled for false claims

Syrup infused bright poisons, derived from making sewage potable
Why can I only see my face reflected in molten polyethylene?
Minds in taxi across mnemonics, designed to summon dispersed wisps
Through screens, senses weep into corpses, among remains washing ashore
